THE DEVELOPER
Partners LLC was formed by Michael and David Kirchner along with
their father, Stewart, and their uncle, James, to fulfill a long-standing
desire to create a family business. It was early 2007 when an opportunity
in Vieques afforded the opportunity to blend their diverse career
backgrounds with their mutual interest in outstanding architecture and
functional design.
Many years ago, the beautiful eight cuerda* parcel acquired by Kiribe
Parnters was once part of vast sugar cane plantation. The history of the
land gave inspiration for the name, Loma Dulce, or "Sweet Hill". Kiribe
Partners was so taken with the beauty that three generous lots were
created rather than four smaller parcels as local zoning would have
allowed. This decision exemplifies the goal of the partnership: to deliver
quality over quantity, and to improve rather than change the character of
the land.
As the project took form, it became apparent that local experiences and
relationships would be invaluable assets and imperative to the success of
Loma Dulce. In 2007, Michael and his wife Laura happily volunteered to
leave snowy Chicago and move to Vieques to become part of the community.
They have gained priceless experience in Viequense culture, climate and
lifestyle. The invaluable knowledge has greatly influenced the project and
is essential in successfully managing the quality and efficiency of
construction.
*cuerda is a local unit for area, 1 cuerda = .97 acre
